The new battle royale game Europa: Rings of Elysium is now in closed beta. At least in Indonesia. But apparently, you can also play from here if you use an Asian gaming service. Europa is like a “PUBG with underwater.”
The hype around PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has inspired a multitude of similar projects: Some of them are now playable.
Europa is a battle royale game from the Chinese software giant Tencent. The game is also known under the title Ring of Elysium. As is common in battle royale games, you will be dropped along with 99 other players onto an ever-shrinking area and must kill all other players. Only then can you win.
Destructible Environment and Water as Unique Features
Europa also offers destructible environments, weather effects, and extensive underwater passages. In addition to the solo mode, where everyone fights against everyone, there are also supposed to be 2-player and 4-player teams.
Fun Fact: Developer Tencent also distributes the competing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in China!
Closed Beta Only in Indonesia – Registration Probably Possible
The closed beta of Europa: Ring of Elysium is set to start on March 7, 2018. To participate, you need to create a free account on the large Asian gaming platform Garena. Then download the Garena launcher and set the region to Indonesia in the settings (gear icon).
Then wait for the banner for Europa: Ring of Elysium to appear and click on it. You will then be directed to a page where you can register for the closed beta for Europa. According to comments online, you might then be activated for the beta with some luck.
Register at Your Own Risk
But be careful! In addition to your name and email address, they also want your phone number (NO HP). So think carefully about whether you provide that. And keep in mind that your ping from Europa to Indonesia will probably not be the best.
Whether and when Europa: Ring of Elysium will be released in this country is not known.
