In a thread on the subreddit for Diablo 4, the user Infex_plays asks for an efficient method to farm runes. He is still quite new to the game but has already completed some content. However, he is having trouble with the runes.
What does the community specifically say about the runes? The top comment with over 150 upvotes comes from dRaftom. He says: “You buy or trade them… Forget targeted farming.” And Jack_Harb adds: “The funny thing is: You don’t. There’s no way to farm targetedly.”
He then explains that you can use certain tributes in the undercity of Kurast to increase the rune drops during the run. World bosses are also worth it, because they drop tributes. But it’s not really effective.
Gaindolf mentions that dungeon bosses also drop runes. And drexsudo69 shares that he prefers this method – simply because runes feel more like a bonus there. Players farm many bosses anyway to get strong Uniques.

With two of these sparks and 50 million gold, you can craft a random Mythic Unique at the blacksmith, completely without runes.
