If you have secured early access to Star Wars Outlaws for the PlayStation 5 and have accumulated a decent amount of gameplay time early on, you might need to brace yourself. Due to a new update from Ubisoft, your save file could become unusable.
Why are the save games on the PS5 failing? Apparently, Ubisoft has contacted numerous buyers of the PlayStation 5 version of Star Wars Outlaws to inform them that the newly released patch 1.000.002 makes extensive adjustments to the new action-adventure game.
According to Ubisoft, you need to ensure that you are playing the new version 1.000.002 on the PS5. Additionally, all save files from older versions of the game are potentially vulnerable to technical problems and even progress blocks due to the patch.
In short: If you started playing Star Wars Outlaws on the PlayStation 5 during the early access phase, you must bury your old save file—no matter how many hours you have invested in it—and start anew.

What else does Ubisoft say? Affected individual JACOAE has published Ubisoft’s message on Reddit. It states that you can check the version number on PS5 by going to “Options” on the game title, selecting “Information,” and checking the version number under “Version.”
How is the community reacting to the message? Unsurprisingly, Ubisoft’s message has caused anger among those affected. After all, one had to purchase the more expensive Gold (for 109.99 euros) or Ultimate Editions (for 129.99 euros) to have three days of early access on the PlayStation 5.
