The battle royale game Naraka: Bladepoint is currently conducting its first beta test, with over 100,000 players participating. It stands out from the competition through parkour elements and Asian martial arts.
This is Naraka: Bladepoint: As is classic in battle royale games, you land in Naraka: Bladepoint on a mysterious island and must fight against other players to survive. However, Naraka does not focus on the shooter genre, but rather on melee combat and parkour elements.
You have complete freedom of movement:
- Climb high towers, rocks, or trees
- Use grappling hooks to swing quickly through the air
- Climb loudly along thick chains or ropes
You can choose from 6 classes. While the combat styles of these classes are fixed, you can almost completely customize the appearance of your character. The major exception is the gender lock.
While you explore the island, you gather new equipment and items at every corner that will help you in your fight for survival. In addition to swords and ranged weapons like bows, you will also receive potions that heal you and provide various boosts.
The combat system itself is heavily action-packed. While you can use bows and rifles, the focus of Naraka: Bladepoint clearly lies on melee combat with swords, staves, or simply your fists. You can perform combos with your weapons and also utilize particularly strong abilities.

You can participate, but hurry up
Here’s how you can join: If you are interested in Naraka: Bladepoint and want to participate in the open beta, you just need to go to the Steam page of the game (via Steam).
There, a box will be displayed that informs you about participation. Press the green “Request Access” button and you’re in. But hurry, the first beta ends on April 27.
So far, over 110,000 players have participated in the beta and the number seems to be continuing to rise (via SteamCharts).
When will Naraka: Bladepoint be released? The developers have not yet provided a specific release date. However, you can expect that the global release is set to happen in summer 2021.
