Trimurti Online is an MMORPG that is announced on Steam and aims to take you into an oriental fantasy world. You will learn how the developers want to evoke a nostalgic feeling with their game, but why you might need to be cautious about it.
What is Trimurti Online? This MMORPG was announced on Steam and is expected to release in February 2024. The game promises not only to be free-to-play but also to offer many classic features one would expect from an MMO:
- A comprehensive story
- Solo and multiplayer quests
- Various dungeons
- Guild battles & boss fights
- PvP arenas
In addition to these features, you can apparently expect plenty of opportunities to develop a character that perfectly fits you. With different classes, fully customizable avatars, or a flexible skill tree
, you can shape your character.
What the developers promise is a game that is allegedly developed in Unreal Engine 5, but is intentionally designed to remind you of the graphics from PS2 games, allowing you to relive the feeling of old MMORPGs.
Before we reveal more about the game, here is the cinematic trailer for you:
Trailer looks like it was created with AI
Why you should take a closer look at the game: If you stumble upon this trailer on Youtube and don’t pay attention to the date, you might almost believe you’ve found a forgotten game from the PS2 era.
However, many might have a different thought creeping in, suggesting that you should definitely look a little closer and be cautious about Trimurti Online.
The trailer gives clear hints of creation by AI. If you look at the faces of the characters, they are often unrecognizable or completely distorted, seeming to lag behind the entire video. The eye areas of the characters are also suspicious – those who have created videos or images with AI will recognize the typical errors here.
Whether this is truly due to the use of AI or simply poor programming cannot be definitively stated at this time.
That the comments under the trailer on Youtube are completely disabled is also alarming.
More Red Flags
to look for
If you’ve become curious after the trailer and want to find out more about the legitimacy of the game, you will encounter even more Red Flags
:
- None of the videos on the official Youtube channel show the aforementioned features
- There is no website for the game
- The comments under all videos are disabled
- The Trimurti stress test teaser (via Youtube) is merely a camera sweep through a lifeless area and shows none of the features being promoted
It is also suspicious that the release is supposed to be in February 2024 – however, there is surprisingly little material showcasing the promised features. This is rather unusual for MMORPGs.
Although it is unclear whether all this is evidence of a scam, or simply an inexperienced developer with a low budget, you should definitely be cautious if you want to continue engaging with the game after these hints.
What do you think about the trailer and the concerns we’ve raised in this article? Do you think Trimurti Online is a scam or not? Feel free to discuss!
