Famous voices from all popular video games as actors and cameos in one game? The new horror game Dead Take promises just that for Steam and features some industry stars to captivate you.
What kind of game is Dead Take? Dead Take is an upcoming psychological first-person horror game set to be released on July 31, 2025, on Steam. It is developed by Surgent Studios, the team behind Tales of Kenzera: Zau. The title will be published by Pocketpair Publishing, known for the survival game Palworld. The studio was founded by Abubakar Salim, who is well-known as the voice of Bayek from Assassin’s Creed Origins.
In the game, you take on the role of an actor investigating the mysterious disappearance of a friend on your own. You explore a decaying mansion, solve puzzles using cut-together live-action videos, and uncover dark truths about the film industry.
The focus is on strong atmosphere, narrative depth, and a critical examination of fame and media. The project is supported by famous figures such as Neil Newbon (known as Astarion from Baldur’s Gate 3) and Ben Starr (known as Clive in Final Fantasy XVI or Verso in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33) in the roles of the protagonist.
With the announcement of the release date, publisher Pocketpair also revealed the additional cast of the game – and even in supporting roles, the cast boasts well-known names.

Who else is involved? Besides Neil Newbon (as Chase Lowry in the game) and Ben Starr (as Vinny Monroe), who appear as actors of the title, other stars from the industry will also play a role in Dead Take.
Alongside them, especially Jane Perry (known as Mystra in Baldur’s Gate 3) and Alanah Pearce (known for her role as Lana Prince from Cyberpunk 2077) will take on significant roles as well. Additional famous voices will also make appearances:

In an interview, Abubakar Salim explained that this selection of voices and actors was no coincidence.
