In a new cooperative horror game on Steam, you are sent by your company to work on the moon. With already 98% positive reviews, this game might be perfect for your Halloween night. Check out the trailer here.
What kind of game is it? Lethal Company is a cooperative horror game by the indie developer Zeekerss, which was released on October 23, 2023 on Steam. The game is currently in Early Access.
Although the game has only been in the store for a week, it already has 98% positive reviews, and if you read through the reviews, it becomes relatively clear why.
For now, however, we have embedded the trailer for you:
What to expect: As the trailer shows, you are operating in Lethal Company as workers of a company on the moon.
Your task is to collect junk on the abandoned moon and sell it to your company. Because it seems that you only earn money for things that are actually delivered.
You can use this money to travel to new moons, buy new suits, or decorate your ship.
The company promises you that this is a very easy job. But the trailer quickly shows that this is not the case. On the moon, there are a few dangers that not only make your work harder but can also cost you your life.
In the trailer, you see dark forests, dangerous factory buildings, and spider-like monsters.
What are the reactions? You can infer a bit about the dangers that await you in the game from the reviews on Steam.
For example, Kovacch writes that he was attacked by a giant centipede thing that then ate the player’s brain or that he was entirely eaten by a giant. Alongside a few other monsters, the boss is mentioned, who kills you if you simply do not perform well enough in your job.
In general, many players praise the concept of the game and write in their reviews about many more or less funny things that have happened, which make you want to try the game yourself in an indescribable way:
- ELMO writes:
This game is the best of the best. Funniest game of all time while also scaring me with a spider and a gun tower.
- ThunderFoot writes:
Really really good. A game that is funny enough to make you tip over and scary enough to make you cry in the corner. If you want a game that is perfect with friends, you won’t regret it.
- [Dev] writes:
I was killed with a shovel, but my body was pawned for $4 so my crew could meet the company’s deadline. 10/10 experience
Especially witnessing the deaths of your own crew or dying yourself and seeing how the crew continues seems to be quite entertaining in the game. Despite the seemingly funny death situations, the horror aspect of the game does not seem to suffer from it.
What do you think of the concept? Would you be interested in a new horror adventure with your friends that also makes you laugh? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
