At the PC Gaming Show and during the E3 2021, there was a new trailer for the FPS shooter Lemnis Gate. It is quite unusual and is referred to by the developers as a “first-person-shooter-based-strategy-game”. Now there is a new trailer for the beta launch and the release.
What kind of game is this? Lemnis Gate is indeed an FPS shooter where you have to take out other players. However, it breaks with some conventions typical of the genre.
There is a twist that makes the whole thing significantly more strategic: You have 25 seconds for each of your moves. So if you want to attack an opponent or perform special actions, you need to plan carefully.
Your opponent is in the same position, which ultimately means that it’s about anticipating your enemies’ possible actions and gaining the upper hand. The system is reminiscent of XCOM, but in first-person. Here’s how it looks in the trailer:

This is shown in the trailer: While the trailer does not reveal too much of the tactical gameplay, it does provide an insight into the possibilities of outsmarting opponents.
You can teleport, jump across the map, and even support teammates with shields. It’s not just about playing against each other; teamwork also plays an important role.
