Like every Tuesday, today, on 03.09., a new update (Content Patch 10.20) for Fortnite arrives on all platforms (PC/Mac, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, iOS, Android). What will the new update offer and what about maintenance work? MeinMMO has the answers.
What will happen today in Fortnite? With Season 10, Epic has seemingly chosen Tuesday as the new patch day. In the past, new updates were always released on Wednesday or Thursday.
In recent days, Fortnite has faced some issues. Thus, the robots had to be temporarily disabled.
It was even worse on Sunday, when the game seemed to be completely offline. Will Epic implement countermeasures with today’s patch to avoid such problems in the future?
The good news for today: You will not have to endure any maintenance work. After downloading and installing the update, you can dive right back in. When the update will arrive and what content you can expect, you will find out now!

Content Patch 10.20 – When will it arrive and how big will it be?
When will the update be available for download? At 2 PM German time, you will be able to download the patch. This time is approximate and may shift by 10 minutes forward or backward. Since there is no maintenance, you can get back in relatively quickly.
How big will the update be? If we look at past comparable patches, you will likely have to download several hundred megabytes of data.
What’s in update 10.20 for Fortnite?
This is new in Battle Royale: The zapper is back! Only the absolute veterans will remember the trap from the early days of Fortnite: Battle Royale. The electric trap dealt damage to players who got too close and will now return to the game enhanced.
Additionally, the map is likely to change again, Fatal Fields will likely be the victim. Presumably, the changes will result in the well-known cube Kevin making a comeback.
Furthermore, as already mentioned, there will likely be the usual bug fixes and stabilizations.
What’s new in the Save the World mode with update 10.20: As the current roadmap ended last week, we do not yet know exactly what features the PvE faction can expect. However, the update this week will likely be underwhelming.
