With Century: Age of Ashes, a F2P game in Early Access is released, allowing you to engage in aerial battles with dragons in PvP.
What kind of game is it? Century: Age of Ashes is a free multiplayer game. You get your own dragon that you ride in aerial battles and compete in teams against other players. Not to be confused with Dragon’s Prophet, the dragon MMO that has since been discontinued.
The game is developed by indie developer Playwing LTD and is produced by a team of 30 developers. The game was already announced at the Game Awards 2020.
When does Century: Age of Ashes come out? The official product page (via Steam) currently only states February 2021. The game will enter Early Access then. It is not clear when exactly the launch will be. However, there will be several closed beta phases.

All about PvP modes and classes
The contents known so far: According to the description, Century: Age of Ashes will offer three PvP modes at launch:
- Slaughter
- Survival
- Raid
These range from simple 3vs3 matches to 6vs6vs6 with a total of up to 18 players competing against each other.

You can choose from up to 3 different classes:
- Wind Warden: With this class, you can protect yourself and confuse your opponents
- Marodeur: This class is referred to as “Destroyer”
- Phantom: With this class, you can camouflage and set traps for your opponents
New classes are expected to be added later. It is possible to extensively customize your dragon and your character. With each level-up, you can unlock new customization options. Additionally, it should be possible to hatch new dragons.

What do the developers say about the F2P status: In the official description, the developers state that the multiplayer game is free and will remain so even after release.
What about purchasable content? Although there will be cosmetic items that you can buy for real money. All these items will also be easily unlockable. The developers exclude Pay2Win:
Century: Age of Ashes is completely free and will be forever, even beyond Early Access. Cosmetic adjustments can be unlocked through gameplay or purchased. None of the in-game purchases will ever be Pay2Win.

What about the Closed Beta? You can sign up for the Closed Beta on Steam, but the spots are limited. The first phase ran from January 29 to January 31. A second phase is expected in the coming weeks. The starting date for this is not yet known.
