In Dune: Awakening the first players have completed the new event quest series and received the reward. However, it turns out differently than many expected, leading to laughter and disappointment.
What is this event? In Dune: Awakening, the first in-game event since the release of the game is currently running. In a series of quests, you need to track down the Kirab, who are shooting at CHOAM freighters with cannons to loot their cargo. Therefore, there are new missions at the CHOAM traders in the Hagga Basin, where you need to thwart and sabotage the Kirab attacks.
As a reward, the developers promise new weapon skins in the CHOAM design, as well as a turret as decoration for your base. The first players have now completed the quest series and experienced a tiny surprise.

Tiny Surprise
What surprised the players? The developers clarified in their announcement for the event on Steam that the turret is solely for decoration and will not be functional. However, when the players received it, the astonishment was still great.
The turret that is awarded from the new quest series is tiny. So tiny that it could probably fight against the cute desert mice. A disappointment for the players, even if it was mostly taken as a joke.
Many had hoped to at least visually upgrade their base with a turret. However, the reward seems to end up more as a paperweight on the desks of the players or to protect their own desert mouse terrarium.
How are the players reacting? The players are less disappointed by the reward; many are rather amused. On Reddit, they write:

Whether ants, desert mice, or as a pencil sharpener on the desk, the new decoration is not what the players expected, but they take it with humor.
The new event is meant to prepare the players for the new story in the major update “Chapter 2”. In addition to a continuation, there will also be a new vehicle and many other changes. The developers already know what is supposed to happen in the distant future.
