A new AI can create entire videos from just a few words of the user. One user wanted to test whether the AI can also imitate video games and has had great success with it.
What kind of AI is this? OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, recently introduced its new video AI Sora 2. This allows users to easily create short video clips from their inputs. These look so good that even Papaplatte is having fun with them.
A user has now tried out how well the new Artificial Intelligence can imitate video games and has had great success.
AI almost perfectly copies Cyberpunk 2077
What did the user input? To see what the AI can do, the user wrote in the input field: “Create a gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 with the Basilisk tank and Panam” and the output was a recording that almost looks like it really came from the game.
The created video clip shows the mission “Queen of the Highway,” and it is almost identical to the original. V and Panam drive a tank through the Badlands, almost just like in real life.
The location on the map is correct, the voices generated by the AI match, and the Aldecaldos are the right group for whom the mission is completed. However, there are some minor inconsistencies: The tank does not have wheels in Cyberpunk 2077, but hovers above the ground, and Panam usually sits in the tank and is not on the gun turret.
How are fans reacting to the clip? The video clip is being shared a lot on X.com and is also generating many comments. While some viewers find it admirable how well the Artificial Intelligence has “created” the side mission of the game, others are upset.
They believe that the AI is clearly violating the copyrights of CD Project Red, the creators of Cyberpunk 2077. For example, one X user named Constantin wishes: “Can @CDPROJEKTRED please sue them into the ground to set a precedent? Thanks.”
Another X.com user @custardcosmos doesn’t understand the excitement: “You’re impressed that the stealing machine is good at stealing? Really?” It is not known whether CD Project Red plans to take legal action against OpenAI. This would not be the first time that lawsuits have been filed against copyright infringement by AI. In June 2025, Gamestar reported how Disney sued the image AI Midjourney.
Artificial intelligence is trained on existing data, which allows for representation of well-known games and characters. The Artificial Intelligence is becoming smarter and is also overcoming initial protective measures, as this example shows: An AI has defeated the protection against robots just so it can book a vacation.
