Vikings: Wolves of Midgard
The action RPG Vikings: Wolves of Midgard takes a slightly different approach than Diablo, even though it is also a hack ‘n’ slash. One of the most interesting changes is the story. You are not the shining hero who has to save the world from a villain. You play a plundering and murdering Viking. But your people are on the brink of extinction. Monsters emerge from the icy north, and you set out to stop this threat.
You choose at the beginning whether you want to play as a warrior or a shieldmaiden and brutally slice through your enemies. The blood of the fallen brings you the favor of the gods and grants you certain bonuses. The fights are very dynamic, as you must actively dodge, take cover, and perform roll jumps. But not only the monsters give you trouble. You must also prepare against the cold, as it’s possible to freeze in the icy areas. Skills are tied to weapons in Vikings: Wolves of Midgard. Over time, you unlock new weapons and thus new abilities.
A small building part is also included, as you, as the chief of your tribe, take care of the expansion and construction of your village, unlocking merchants and crafting options. The hack ‘n’ slash Vikings: Wolves of Midgard can be played in a 2-player co-op mode and is set to be released on March 28.
