In the trailer, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers looks like an exciting mix of Black Myth: Wukong and Sekiro. The game is set to be released next year on Steam.
What is it about? Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is an action role-playing game from the Chinese developer studio Leenzee, published by 505 Games. The setting is China in the year 1647: The Ming Dynasty has fallen, and its inhabitants are being ravaged by a mysterious disease.
In the trailer, the developers introduce their setting in more detail:

What does the trailer show? It starts off really grim: Soldiers are hanging from trees, and a servant of the Ming Emperor laments his downfall. He vows to restore the empire and hold the traitors accountable. At this point, the protagonist also appears.
You play as Wuchang, an experienced pirate warrior. She aims to solve the mystery behind the “Feathering” to bring her dead sister back to life. This is a disease that transforms people into monsters. Among them:
- A disgusting centipede spider.
- A fox spirit that beats you up in two different forms.
- A woman in shiny blue feathered attire who attacks you with water magic.
Wuchang herself fights with double swords but will also have access to some really wild weapons. At one point in the trailer, she uses a spear that has a rapid-fire gun built into it, and shortly after, a flamethrower.
When will the game be released? Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is set to be released in 2025 for PC on Steam and in the Epic Games Store, as well as for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, the game will be included in Xbox Game Pass.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers clearly identifies itself as a Soulslike and takes a different approach than Black Myth: Wukong. The developers of that game have always avoided using this term. The question now arises: How difficult is the action RPG Black Myth: Wukong really?
