With Dekaron G, a reboot of the 18-year-old action MMORPG Dekaron will soon be released. Initially only for mobile devices, later also for PC. Now the developers show the classes with which the game will start, but the fans are disappointed.
What kind of game is it? Dekaron G is supposed to be a remake of the 18-year-old MMORPG Dekaron. The game focuses on action-packed battles and many colorful animations. A mobile version of the game called Dekaron M was released a few years ago. M stands for mobile.
Now Dekaron G is supposed to replace its direct predecessor M and later also the regular Dekaron for PC. Because G will be released at launch only for Apple and Android devices, but is supposed to move to PC later.
Here are the core features of the MMORPG:
- An open world divided into smaller areas, similar to Guild Wars 2 and Lost Ark
- Action combat with colorful and flamboyant skill effects from the various classes
- Free2Play with a, now confirmed, Play2Earn approach, which will be included in G
- PvE and PvP
- Gameplay loop of looting, leveling, and upgrading equipment
- 4 classes at launch
What classes are included? At the beginning, Dekaron G will launch with 4 classes. These have been stripped of their names and now only identify themselves by the weapon they wield. So you have the choice between the 1-handed sword, the whip, the bow, and the staff.
This means Dekaron G starts with the same 4 classes as its direct mobile predecessor Dekaron M. But since G is also supposed to come to PC later, some fans are quite annoyed. In the regular Dekaron, there are a total of 9 classes, so more than double the amount.

Fans react disappointed to the class selection
What is the problem? Of the 9 classes from the original 18 years ago, only 4 made it into the new Dekaron G, which is causing some fans to feel upset. Many view the chosen classes as standard fare. There’s practically a warrior, a hunter, a mage, and a healer.
This bothers many, because a major appeal of the original was that it had comparatively unique classes, at least for a game from 2004. The spear mage Aloken, the martial arts giant Bagi, or the summoner who could wield either two swords or a staff are completely missing, even though they were fan favorites.
For some fans, Dekaron G is not the MMORPG they have been eagerly awaiting. This is partly due to the payment model that the new installment has chosen.
Play2Earn now confirmed: When the pre-registrations for Dekaron G were opened, only the integration of blockchain was mentioned. This already caused mixed feelings at the announcement. Now the developers have confirmed via their homepage that there will be a total of 4 currencies in the game that enable a Play2Earn concept (via Dekaronglobal.com).
How much can be earned with it is not clear at this time. Only an explanation of how to earn the two currencies Incar and Nunvice in the game is currently available. However, these must then be converted to Wemix Coin and Wemix Credit before one can earn money with them (via Dekaronglobal.com).
The rates for this are still unknown. However, this is likely to ensure that some fans of the original will not play the game. The announcement is quite fresh (as of October 14), so there have been hardly any reactions to the feature so far.

Mood before the launch is rather gloomy
What is the situation in the community? Pre-registration began on September 22 and runs until October 16. However, the voices around Dekaron G are not particularly loud, and when they are, they are usually not overwhelmed by positivity. There are indeed people who are excited for the MMORPG, but many are concerned.
Especially around the class selection, there are several comments. The Play2Earn announcement has not triggered many reactions yet.
What do the players say? Some of the comments we want to share with you directly, so you can get a sense of what others are saying. They come directly from the announcement trailer of the classes (via YouTube).
- “So there are only half as many classes as in the original? Why? No summoner, no Bagi, no Aloken, just standard. Meh.”
- “Wow, is this still around? I played it in 2007”
- “No Bagi, vs [summoner] or alo [Aloken] :(“
- “Okay, but where is the Aloken and the Bagi?”
Does Dekaron G sound interesting to you? Are you generally looking forward to a Play2Earn MMORPG? Or are you also among the handful of people who played Dekaron back then and are looking forward to a reboot? Are you going to give the game a try?
