In addition to the “Playstation 4” version of Neverwinter, Cryptic Studios is also working on the new module Storm King’s Thunder.
The developers have now revealed what to expect in this module in a new blog post. This time, you will be dealing with giants. Five of the titanic races (Hill, Stone, Frost, Cloud, Storm) threaten the Sword Coast and pursue dark plans to become the rulers of all giants. The Frost Giant Jarl Storvald is trying to find the Ring of Winter, with which he can turn the world into an icy wasteland. Of course, you must not allow this and travel back to Icewind Dale.
Explore new zones full of adventures
There you will encounter three new adventure zones. The city of Bryn Shander serves as a refuge. From there, you will travel to the Lonely Forest. The surrounding area of the forest settlement at Maer Dualdon may seem peaceful, but you won’t be able to enjoy this peace for long. Additionally, you will head to Kaltbach, where mysterious things are happening on the coast of the Driftice Sea… In each zone, new quests, new repeatable content, new heroic encounters, and new instances for high-level players await you.
A special challenge is the Fangbreaker Island, a new dungeon for 5 players. This is the game’s toughest vault yet, requiring a higher item level than all other waitlists. Those who take on the challenges will be rewarded with the best equipment in the game. However, you will gain access to the dungeon only after making certain progress in the new campaign.
Autumn will be frosty
To protect yourself from the magical cold of the Ring of Winter, you must seek out the Ostorian relics. Additionally, the module brings a lot of balance changes to the MMORPG Neverwinter. The Storm King’s Thunder module is set to be released this autumn – first for the PC version, shortly thereafter for the console versions.
