Perfect World and Cryptic Studios have announced that more than 15 million players have created an account for the MMORPG Neverwinter. These are impressive player numbers across all platforms.
How many people play Neverwinter?
Of the 15,000,000 accounts, the players include those on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 in 110 countries. Naturally, the developers are proud to have reached this number – although it would have been a bit more interesting to know how many players actively play Neverwinter.
The team is proud of the success
“The success of Neverwinter on so many platforms and in so many countries shows how strong the D&D community is around the world,” says Nathan Stewart, Brand Director of Dungeons & Dragons. “The partnership with Cryptic and Perfect World has allowed D&D fans to experience the Forgotten Realms through the annual stories like never before.”
The player numbers are growing, new content is coming – 3 million more accounts since last fall
Last fall, there were still 12 million registered players. The increase shows that the MMORPG is quite popular. At that time, the number consisted of 7 million fans on PC, 3 million on Xbox One, and 2 million on PS4, noting that the PlayStation 4 version of Neverwinter only launched in July of last year. There are likely some more fans who have joined since then.
In a video, the team thanks the players and explains that they can look forward to many more adventures. The team is currently working on the next adventure module “Shroud of Souls,” which will be released on May 2 for PC. Console players will have to wait a bit longer as usual.
