The Cryptic Studios are giving the Playstation 4 version of the MMORPG Neverwinter a new user interface.
MMORPGs are increasingly finding their way to the current console generation. However, it is necessary for developers to adapt the user interface accordingly. Because on the console, you do not play with a mouse and keyboard, but with a controller. This means that all functions need to be quickly and easily selectable. The menu navigation also works differently with a controller compared to a mouse and keyboard.
New UI for the PS4 version
For the upcoming Playstation 4 version of Neverwinter, the developers have revised the UI. A lot has been streamlined and simplified. Every button on the controller has a function or an assigned item. Skills are selected via a palette system, similar to what is known from other console MMOs. Those who have been able to try the controls on the PS4 report that Neverwinter plays very intuitively and fluidly.
Updates coming a little later
The Cryptic Studios also state that the update cycle for the PS4 version will be aligned with that of the Xbox One version. Updates on the console will be experienced about a week after the PC version. In terms of content, the Playstation 4 version of the MMORPG will not differ from the other versions. The Cryptic Studios explain that console players want to experience the same game, just comfortably from the couch.
