Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero shows a lot of action between different characters in the new trailer at gamescom, who have never fought against each other in the anime.
What can be seen in the new trailer? A new insight into Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, the new fighting game of the anime series, was showcased at the Opening Night Live of gamescom 2024. It’s coming on August 11.
In the trailer itself, you’ll see the usual bombastic action and many different characters. The special thing about this trailer is that you don’t see the familiar fights, but rather opponent combinations that have not been seen in the anime.
Dragon Ball is still one of the most popular anime of all time. This is also confirmed by the MeinMMO community: You chose the best afternoon anime on RTL2, and there is a clear winner.

Which characters fight against each other? In the trailer, you see short snippets of fights in quick succession. The combinations of characters are what’s interesting. At the beginning, for example, you see Goku fighting against his father Bardock after the Namek arc. Cell fights against Hit, and you also see Kefla fighting against Goku Black.
Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero is the spiritual successor of the Budokai-Tenkaichi series. Despite the lack of balance, the series is quite popular, as you could seemingly play every character from the Dragon Ball universe. A funny moment in the trailer is the fight between Mister Satan and Weraffen-Vegeta.
Sparking! Zero also promises an incredible number of characters, this time even including characters from Dragon Ball Super. As already seen in the trailer, you can pit opponents who have never met against each other.
In a new mode, you can create your own story battles. Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero aims to go a step further and allow you to create your own story battles based on the “What If” principle. You should also be able to upload these and share them with the community. The Budokai-Tenkaichi series is also known for actions that push your controllers to the limit. Players are already preparing for the new game: “I’m buying 300 controllers”: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero gives players a big headache with a mechanic
