A new survival MMO called Last Oasis has been announced, which is set to be available on Steam in the spring. The survival game brings some unique elements that are meant to differentiate it from genre counterparts.
The developers of Last Oasis, Donkey Crew, recently announced a date for the Early Access of Last Oasis on Steam. The survival MMO set in a different post-apocalypse is described by the developers as “Woodpunk” and features interesting elements.
Last Oasis – when the Earth no longer rotates
What is Last Oasis? In Last Oasis, you play as one of the last nomads on Earth. The Earth has stopped rotating, and the sun mercilessly scorches every patch it shines upon.
As one of the last survivors, you are constantly fleeing from the deadly heat and the scorched wasteland left by the sun towards the horizon to escape death. You also need to secure your survival with water, carry your belongings, and assert yourself against other survivors.
These are the features: Last Oasis brings classic survival elements such as survival through food intake and weather, crafting, and building. You can build durable structures stationary or create lighter buildings “to go”. The special features:
- Grappling Hook: One of your most important tools. It brings a vertical aspect to the game. With a grappling hook on a rope, you move faster, and can even climb the mobile bases of other players.
- giant walkers: Buildings made of wood can be constructed on giant, wind-driven walkers that resemble constructs from the Wild Wild West. Through these, you can remain in constant motion and easily take your base with you.
- Oases: If you want to log out or just need a break, there are still oases on Earth. These offer enough shelter for a pause.
The movable bases on the wind-driven walkers remind one of the building possibilities in ARK, where you can also build on particularly large dinos. The combat system is action-packed and resembles, at first glance, that of Conan Exiles.
Who is Last Oasis suitable for? According to the developers, Last Oasis is a game for individuals and small groups. Last Oasis is based on small clans that fight against the sun’s course as a nomadic tribe to secure their survival.
