A major content update brings the new class Magician to the Korean MMORPG Riders of Icarus, which runs on Steam. The patch is called “Dawn of the Magician” and also kicks off the “Race to Glory” event to celebrate the new job.
After a forced break, things are moving again in Riders of Icarus. Due to “unforeseen reasons”, the developers of the game were unable to work on the MMORPG for a whole year.
In May 2018, the team resumed communication with the community and released the latest content update with a new class on July 26.
Chaos Magic and Many AOEs
Not a classic elemental mage: It is actually the fate of the Shaling to become tricksters, another class in Riders of Icarus, and to fight against evil in the world. Those who do not succeed, however, still have the option to use their powers for good by becoming Magicians.
The new class is exclusive to the Shaling. It is an ancient race whose members live very long lives while maintaining the appearance of young girls.
The arsenal of the Magician mainly consists of spells that have chaos, light, or darkness as their elemental properties. In addition, there are AOEs and other crowd-control abilities that will be available to you in combat.
Race Event for the Fastest Grind
The community is to welcome the Magicians: Coinciding with the release of the Magician, the publisher Nexon has launched an event that will reward players for leveling up the new class quickly. In addition to the classic “Get it to max level the fastest” task, there are also rewards for PvP players.
Players who, for example, defeat 100 magicians in PvP zones or duels will receive special rewards. Alternatively, if you are not a PvP pro, you can allow yourself to be killed by the magicians 100 times.
