We are looking for freelance support who can assist us from home.
With MeinMMO, we reach several million people every month who share our passion for gaming. Here you will find articles and videos with stories, guides, opinions, recommendations, or interviews.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for freelance authors who can support us in reporting on Twitch and YouTube. You should enjoy sharing your knowledge in the area of gaming culture. Here’s what you should bring:
- a knack for exciting stories
- not only a passion for games but also the stories of the people who work with them
- a willingness to dive deep into topics and conduct research
- you use social platforms like Twitter, Reddit, and TikTok
- you enjoy writing
- a willingness to work on weekends is a plus
This is a plus, but not a must: You already have experience in the media field. This includes: your own blog, work for another website, your own channel on Twitch, TikTok, or YouTube.
What is it about?
You know the biggest stars on German Twitch and are aware of what emerging talents to keep an eye on? You eagerly await uploads from your favorite gaming YouTubers? If a topic trends on Twitch, you are the first to know and get all the details? You speak “Papaplatte” fluently?
Then working at MeinMMO is just right for you!
In the field of gaming culture, we report on everything that concerns gamers outside of their favorite games. This also includes content creators on YouTube and Twitch.
As a Twitch author, you will report on current topics in the streaming scene. You should particularly focus on the German-speaking Twitch and YouTube, but also keep an eye on the international scene.
Content can include entertaining anecdotes from streams, but also viral trends, elaborate events, or topics that are being discussed in the community.
How do we work?
The workflow: You independently research exciting stories in the Twitch and YouTube community and on the official channels of the content creators. Together with the editorial team, you plan the topics you will report on. You work with analytical tools like Google Trends to find the most urgent topics for our readers. You write articles that fit MeinMMO and our community.
The hours: You can work for MeinMMO for a few hours at least three days a week. Up to 20 hours per week are possible.
The pay: The remuneration is calculated on an hourly basis in the news-room, not per article or according to character count.
What do we offer?
- Access to a successful gaming editorial team
- Practical experience and further training in game journalism
- Access to editorial tools comfortably from home
- An environment that is passionate about gaming
- Variety, as each topic brings something new
- Regular coaching in data analysis and storytelling
- Affiliation with the Webedia network, which includes GameStar, GamePro, MeinMMO, Moviepilot, and Filmstarts.
