After it was announced that the Amazon MMORPG New World will not receive any further content or updates, we wanted to hear from you, MeinMMO readers, how you feel about this news.
What kind of survey is this? Although New World managed to captivate its players again after difficult years, engaging newcomers and bringing back old fans, the positive atmosphere was dampened by a sobering announcement: New World will not receive any further content or updates after the last season.
The announcement came as a surprise to many fans and led to community voices expressing their disappointment and grief.
We wanted to know how our community and readers here at MeinMMO are dealing with this news, and we asked you for feedback through a survey on whether you will continue to stay with New World or not.
For nearly half of you, New World is already history, but some don’t want to give up on the game yet
This is how you voted: Since the survey went live, as of now (October 31, 2025, 12:30), 3,945 readers have participated! Thank you for that!
The current status of the survey, which by the way will continue running, is as follows:
- 46 % (1,795 votes) told us that they have no desire to continue playing since the news and want to quit immediately.
- 12 % (490 votes), however, have a completely different opinion and want to stick it out until the bitter end, that’s what you call dedication.
- 9 % (370 votes) do not want to stop playing immediately, but are unsure how long they will continue.
- 7 % (270 votes) have not stopped playing right away, but know that they too will be out soon.
- 26 % (1,020 votes) have never played New World and therefore will neither want to restart nor be able to quit.
What does the result mean? If you subtract the 26 %, or the 1,020 votes of those who have never set foot in the world of New World and focus solely on the players, we learn the following:
In total, 2,925 of the 3,945 participants are players, of whom 29 % (860 votes) want to continue playing and 71 % (2,065 votes) will give up the game sooner or later or have already given up.
A sobering result that reflects the general sentiment of fans in forums, social media, and community hubs quite closely.
