In Pokémon GO, you can currently catch many legendary Pokémon. One has been quite resistant to this.
In Pokémon GO, the event themed “Into the Adventure” is currently taking place. This includes daily changing raid bosses, legendary monsters that trainers would like to add to their collection.
One of these legendary Pokémon was Lugia, which dominated the arenas with Ho-Oh on November 10th – and in its Shadow form. A pretty cool, strong Pokémon.
But it is also a resilient one, as some trainers discovered. Because Lugia persistently refused to be caught by some.
Lugia just won’t settle – What can you do about it?
In the subreddits for Pokémon GO, some trainers report having problems with Lugia. The biggest difficulty: Shadow Lugia constantly breaks out, does somersaults in the air, and wards off the scant Poké Balls that trainers earned in the raid to catch it.
This is probably partly because Lugia is a Shadow Pokémon, which are generally considered more aggressive in this regard. It is noteworthy, however, that no such problems were reported with the simultaneously appearing Shadow Ho-Oh. Either way: The explanation is of little help to trainers who reported their struggles in various posts.
“I hate raiding Lugia,” “I’ve made great throws and it still fled,” “It just won’t stop flipping” – such and similar comments can be seen from trainers in the comments (on Reddit).
What can you do? To calm Lugia down a bit, there are at least a few options that you can try.
- Throw a Nanab Berry. This berry helps to keep Pokémon a bit less active during the catching screen.
- The Adventure Effect “Frostvolt” from Black Kyurem freezes Pokémon that you want to catch. This should work here as well, but it also costs candies and stardust.
- Use a buddy Pokémon that you have leveled up enough to be able to reflect missed balls back onto the Pokémon.
Otherwise, it is: Wait, aim, and try to hit as well as possible.
