Fortnite does not neglect its PvE mode and introduces a new game mode with the update “Horde Bash.” In it, you must fend off wave after wave of enemies with your pre-fabricated fortress.
Fortnite has seen great success with the recently introduced PvP mode Battle Royale. Even the genre heavyweight PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is worried about its position and accused the Fortnite developers Epic Games of creating a plagiarized version.
Other players, however, found it concerning that the developers are rushing into a PvP mode when Fortnite was originally developed as a light-hearted co-op PvE shooter. Parallels to the infamous fate of H1Z1 were voiced.
Its PvE mode had been ruthlessly overshadowed by the far more successful PvP version King of Kill and no longer even shares the name H1Z1. However, Epic does not seem to want to make the same mistake and is releasing plenty of PvE content!
New PvE Mode Horde Bash – Build your fortress beforehand and crush monsters
The new PvE mode Horde Bash is fundamentally a classic horde survival mode. You must take shelter and withstand increasingly difficult waves of monsters. Unlike regular Fortnite, you can build your defenses in peace beforehand. You have unlimited time, but only limited resources.
The pre-fabricated fortress will then be saved and can be fully set up in the game. You will see how good your fortress design was in battle. Depending on how long you hold out or if you make it to the end, there are big rewards.
The Horde Bash update for Fortnite will be released on October 5.
New Heroes in Loot Llamas
With the Horde Bash update, there are new event llamas. Llama piñatas are the loot boxes in Fortnite. The new scavenger llamas may contain the following items:
- 9 new scavenger weapons
- 2 new defenders
- 4 new heroes
The four new heroes have the following abilities:
- Raider Soldier: A melee fighter who loves shotguns.
- Ammo Harvest Outlander: A scout who can exceptionally gather ammunition.
- Trap Specialist Constructor: Traps deal more damage and withstand more with this constructor.
- Energy Thief Ninja: Generates and absorbs energy in melee combat.
