The birthday event in Borderlands 3 is entering its third round. The new event focuses on the rare Eridium.
This event is about: To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the series, there are several event weeks in Borderlands 3. The first week brought you more loot for certain bosses, and the second week focused on rare enemies.
This week marks the start of event number three: “Show Me the Eridium!” As the name suggests, this event revolves around the rare purple element.
This is the new event
When does the event start? “Show me the Eridium” begins during the course of today, Tuesday, and will run for a week. According to official information, a micropatch should be applied by midnight. To ensure that this is installed correctly, you should spend a few minutes in the main menu while online in the game.
What does the event bring? You mainly receive Eridium in Borderlands 3 when you mine the large purple crystals that are scattered throughout the world. However, this can only be done after a certain point in the story. You can also occasionally find pieces of Eridium from chests, lockers, or strong enemies, but the majority comes from the crystals.
During the event, however, you will receive significantly more Eridium. It will be added as a possible loot drop for regular enemies. In Mayhem Mode, there will also be increased Eridium drops.
What is Eridium used for? Eridium is mainly used to exchange it on the black market with Crazy Earl. At Earl’s, you can mainly get cosmetics like hats, skins, or other enhancements. Additionally, you can buy Eridium-infused weapons for your vault hunter.
Moreover, there are slot machines at Moxxi that accept Eridium as currency. Both at Moxxi’s machine and in Earl’s black market, prices will be cheaper for the duration of the event. This means that you can acquire cosmetics much faster during the event – first, you get more Eridium, and second, prices will be better. Additionally, there is a weapon that produces new weapons with Eridium – you can also feed it better with Eridium during the event.
