The Twitch streamer Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris is no longer the biggest German streamer on Twitch, but he is still the most relevant. However, he apparently isn’t fully satisfied with his financial situation. He says he has always spent money with both hands. Others have handled it more cleverly.
This is the situation: MontanaBlack recently had Trymacs as a guest; both are major Twitch streamers and it is known that both have been in the business for a long time and have earned a lot of money.
MontanaBlack revealed in 2023 that he easily earns 2 million euros through the secondary use of his content each year.
Trymacs once mentioned that he has so much money in the bank that the bank offered him a real estate deal in which Trymacs buys a house that essentially pays for itself. So he can easily brush off missing out on a few thousand euros because he overlooks a bill.
The conversation turns to the topic of money. While other streamers like Tanzverbot or Simon Krätschmer have recently had problems with taxes, the discussion with Trymacs and MontanaBlack is about whether they have earned enough money to quit the job immediately. Trymacs can easily imagine that; he wouldn’t miss streaming and could work behind the camera. For MontanaBlack, the situation isn’t so simple.
MontanaBlack says he can’t maintain his lifestyle for 5 years
This is what MontanaBlack says about his financial status: MontanaBlack responds to the question of whether he is financially secure that he couldn’t afford his current lifestyle without ongoing income for even five years: “I spend my money with both hands – always have.”
Who does he envy a bit? MontanaBlack explains that other content creators manage their earnings much better than he does:
“Without naming names: There are people in the background who may have 10 percent of my reach or that of Trymacs, but have a larger fortune than I or Trymacs because they have really managed their money well, invested: Start-ups, always real estate, buying up properties, leveraging one property against another.”
For MontanaBlack himself, that was not an option. He says he always aimed to buy a house, which he has done. Additionally, he owns two condominiums.

Who does MontanaBlack mean? It is generally assumed that MontanaBlack is referring to the YouTuber Rewinside. He and the YouTuber Simon “Unge” Wiefels, the “king” of Madeira, are considered to be the “smart investors” in the YouTube scene.
Rewinside has been on YouTube since 2013 and has never been anywhere near as big as MontanaBlack, but has apparently invested cleverly with a background in the real estate industry.
While the currently biggest influencer in Germany, Papaplatte, is known for putting his money into the Worlds ETF, Rewinside, as a trained real estate agent, has evidently invested well in concrete. For years, MontanaBlack has threatened to move out of Germany to save on taxes. But he hasn’t followed through with it: MontanaBlack wants to leave Germany: “That’s an extra 400,000 € in my account”
