Since the release of Monster Hunter World on PC, several mods have emerged that change the game. Some improve the FPS, while others add new outfits or remove the scout flies.
Now there is another modification that turns your cat companions (Palicos) into dog companions.
The right mod for dog lovers
The mod allows you to make the Palico companions into dog companions. Instead of a cat, you’ll be accompanied by “man’s best friend”. Even the sounds have been adjusted.

I’m not specifically a fan of cats or dogs, but I know a few people who wanted a dog instead of a cat as a partner. So I wanted to see if such a mod was possible.
It seems he succeeded. At least to some extent. Partially, you can still see on the body, eyes, and paws that they should actually be cats. Especially with equipment, it is obvious that they are supposed to be dogs.
Here’s how to install the dog mod: You can find this mod at nexusmods.com. To install it, you need to unpack the files into the folder “SteamSteamappscommonMonster Hunter World”.
What are Palicos anyway? In the world of Monster Hunter World, Palicos are a race of cats that can talk and walk on two legs. You can take them as companions on hunts, equip them with weapons and armor, and give them various tools to assist you in battle.
If you prefer dogs, this mod is the best you can get at the moment.
