Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (MHW) has announced its final update. In today’s Dev Diary, the developers talked about what to expect, including a special monster.
When is the release of the update? The final update is set to be released on October 1, 2020, according to the developer diary. This means Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has kept its promise to provide updates for the game for a year.
After this, the game will continue to release events, but there won’t be any major title updates. This marks the end of Monster Hunter World after more than 2.5 years.
Fatalis returns
Which monster is in the update? The biggest highlight in the developer diary was the announcement of Fatalis. The dragon and absolute fan favorite has been long anticipated, especially alongside the Alatreon that was already featured in the last title update.
The fight against the giant dragon is expected to be a bigger challenge again, set in an impressive map reminiscent of Dark Souls. You will have cannons and ballistae at your disposal.
And the developers even justify their decision. It was the community that ensured the return of the beloved dragon. For the 15th anniversary of Monster Hunter, they revamped Fatalis.
The fans were so excited about the footage that it went viral. According to their own statement in the diary, the developers had no choice but to bring Fatalis to MHW.
What does the armor bring? The gear you can craft with Fatalis has already been shown. However, the set bonus remains a secret.
Much cooler than the regular armor is the one for your Palico. It will completely transform into a mini-dragon!
New map, new skill, new stuff
What else can you expect? The return of Fatalis is not the only announcement in the final dev diary. A new map awaits you. You may already know it from the fight against Velkhana. It is the fortress where you first bind the ice dragon. In line with this, you will soon be able to defeat the battle-hardened Velkhana.
There will also be a Halloween event. The spooky-themed armors look pretty cool. Especially Poogie will once again not be spared and will appear in a ghostly dress. For those who find that lacking in style, you will soon be able to acquire all armors as decorative armor.
Additionally, the Clutch Claw will also receive an update this time. There will probably be a boost depending on your weapon. This will make it easier to injure the monster or make it drop ammunition. Thus, the attack with the claw will be even deadlier.
Of course, there will also be a bunch of stuff. New, really cool charms for your weapons. Additionally, new decorations for your house – including the aforementioned charms. We are eager to see how exactly the journey of Monster Hunter World will end.
