In Monster Hunter World you can now craft a high-rank armor for Ryu. Learn here how to unlock the Alpha Set from Street Fighter V and what stats the armor has. The event is available for PS4 and Xbox One.
You were able to craft an event armor for Ryu before, but it was only usable at low rank. Now you can unlock an Alpha Set for high rank with appropriate stats by completing the challenge “The Awakened Satsui No Hado”.
To obtain the armor, you must take on a Nergigante in the arena. The event runs from May 11 to May 24.
These are the quest details for high-rank Ryu:
- Name: The Awakened Satsui No Hado (I, II, III)
- Level: 8 stars
- Target: Kill the Nergigante
- Location: Arena (top of the Gathering Hub)
- Quest Type: Challenge
- Duration: May 11 – May 24
- Conditions: Hunter Rank 13 or higher – How to level up your Hunter Rank
- Failing Conditions: Time expired, knocked out nine times
- Available on: PS4 and Xbox One
Why is there the quest three times? The Awakened Satsui is available three times with the same prerequisites and conditions. Since it is an arena challenge, you only have a special selection of weapons available. However, with the three quests, you have access to all 14 weapon classes . Otherwise, there are no differences between the quests, including the rewards.
The Ryu Set-α has new abilities
As the Ryu Set is a high-rank armor, it has new skills compared to the low-rank armor. However, it is still a one-piece set. This means you cannot mix the armor with others.
This is the skills the Ryu Set-α gets:
- Aggressor Level 2 – Increases attack power and affinity when large monsters become enraged
- Constitution Level 2 – Reduces stamina consumption
- Revival Level 1 – With abnormal status effects, you dodge quicker and stamina consumption is reduced
- Rathalos Mastery:
- Critical Element Level 2 – Increases elemental damage on critical hits
- Inner Eye/Ballistics Level 4 – Attacks are not deflected and reduces the time for ammunition and arrows to reach their maximum strength.
To craft the armor you need four times the SFV Ticket III, which you receive directly from the event quest.

It could be that other event armors will follow, as there is currently no high-rank variant available. Nonetheless, most players prefer skins over event armors:
