Monster Hunter World starts an exclusive PS4 beta on December 22 at 6:00 PM. Capcom released a beta guide that shows in the video what you can do in the demo version. The preload has already begun.

Monster Hunter World: Beta Guide summarized in German
In the beta of Monster Hunter World, you can hunt a total of 3 monsters, which are divided into different difficulty levels.
These 3 monsters you can hunt
You will face 3 monsters and can hunt them in the Ancient Forest and Wildspire Waste.
Here are the monsters with brief descriptions:
- Great Jagras (Beginner) – Found in the Ancient Forest
- The Great Jagras can swallow monsters in one bite and use the gained weight to scare off enemies.
- Barroth (Intermediate) – Found in the Wildspire Waste
- Barroth uses its large and heavy head to smash through its surroundings.
- Anjanath (Expert) – Found in the Ancient Forest
- Anjanath have powerful jaws that they use to tear apart enemies and a keen sense of smell. They are merciless and aggressive predators that won’t let their prey escape quickly.
This is how the beta is structured: Start and Quests
- Character Creation – At the start, you choose one of 12 preset characters to become your hunter. In the full version of Monster Hunter World, there will be a detailed character creator. After that, you will also be given a choice of 6 Palicos, the cat companions.
- Select Quest – After creating the avatar, you will receive 3 quests to choose from that you can undertake.
- You don’t have to complete the quests in any particular order and can start directly with the hardest one.
- Group Formation – You can play the quests solo or (online) in a group. For playing together, you have several options available.
- Matchmake: Here you will be thrown into a group where you can hunt together
- Create your own quest: Here you will be the group leader and others can join your quest
- Search by criteria: Here you can specify special wishes about who should join the quest
- Search by quest ID: Here you look for a friend’s ID and enter their lobby.
- Equipment: Once you have chosen your quest and possibly a group, you can select your equipment – this also applies to your cat!
- Weapons: All 14 weapon types are available to you in the beta
- Armor: You can choose from a number of armor pieces
- After the successful hunt: Once you have successfully defeated a monster and thus completed the quest, you can either continue playing in the same group or start a new quest.
