In the Special Developer Update, the developers of Monster Hunter World announced how the game will continue in December 2018 and into 2019. We summarize the most important news.
Monster Hunter World has announced some big news. The game will continue in 2019 and provide hunters with new content.
This includes more battle-hardened monsters, a new crossover with The Witcher, events like an anniversary festival, and a major DLC expansion.
Battle-Hardened Kulve Taroth and Nergigante
Two of the Elder Dragons from Monster Hunter World will receive a battle-hardened version. Kulve Taroth and Nergigante will appear in the coming months.
Kulve Taroth arrives before Christmas
When is the battle-hardened Kulve Taroth coming? The Kulve Taroth will arrive this year on December 20 and will be active until January 4. This is another time-exclusive event. After that, the regular version will no longer appear in Monster Hunter World.
What’s new? The course of the Siege Quest remains fundamentally the same. New tasks will be added that you can complete during this quest. Kulve Taroth can enter a kind of rage mode multiple times during the battle. In this state, it sheds its armor.
If you complete this task, you can expect extra rewards. The battle-hardened Kulve Taroth will bring new relic weapons with it. Before their values are revealed, they have a rainbow coloring.
These weapons are said to be completely new and will introduce new elements to the game. There will also be a Gamma armor.
Nergigante awakens spring feelings
When is the battle-hardened Nergigante coming? Capcom will answer that at a later date. But it is confirmed to be spring 2019.
What’s new? Based on the previous battle-hardened monsters, the Nergigante will likely be a stronger version of the hardened Nergigante.
. The monster will take more hits and deal greater damage. Whether the battle-hardened Nergigante will also gain new movement or attack patterns is not yet known.
Players can also look forward to a new Gamma armor.
Monster Hunter World celebrates its anniversary
In celebration of the birthday of Monster Hunter World, a Gratitude Festival will take place in spring. As with the seasonal events, there will be a lot to do.
This is how the Gratitude Festival will be: Like with other events such as the currently ongoing Winter Festival, the gathering place will shine in particularly splendid decoration.

New Crossover with The Witcher 3
A new crossover event is on the way. This time, Monster Hunter meets The Witcher.
This will be included in the crossover:
- Very likely an armor and skin
- Specially designed quests
- Recording from Geralt’s original voice actors in languages like German, English, and French

Monster Hunter World: Iceborn – A new expansion
In conclusion, there was the biggest announcement of the stream: A new expansion for Monster Hunter World called Iceborn.
What we know: Iceborn will be a major expansion that can be purchased either with the full game or separately. It will
- introduce new maps,
- monsters,
- armors,
- and activities.
Additionally, the story of Monster Hunter World will be continued. The expansion is said to have the scope of a G-series title, as is already known from Monster Hunter. Apparently, fans will get exactly what they hoped for.

Monster Hunter World receives a limited-time demo
Monster Hunter World will receive a demo. This will allow interested players to take a free look at the huge game.
The scope of the demo: You will be able to play all quests of ranks 3-4. You will also have full access to other content of the game such as
- the forge,
- the gathering place,
- and other locations in the game.
You can also play online with owners of the full version. Progress from this demo will carry over to the main game if you decide to make a purchase.
When is the demo available? The demo will run from December 12, 1 AM, to December 18, 0:59.
