Best Settings for PS5
Here’s what you should consider on the PS5: In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can choose between 3 different modes. We will present the corresponding settings. Monster Hunter Wilds is an action-heavy game, so we recommend preferring a high frame rate. The downside is that the resolution may look a bit blurry.
| Setting | Target Resolution | Resolution (Rendering) | Ray Tracing | Frame Rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Resolution | 3840 x 2160 | 3072 x 1728 | Off | 30 FPS |
| Balanced | 3840 x 2160 | 2496 x 1404 | Off | 40 FPS |
| Frame Rate | 3840 x 2160 | 1920 x 1080 | Off | 60 FPS |
Best Settings for PS5 Pro:
Here’s what you should consider on the PS5 Pro: The biggest advantages of the PS5 Pro are the overall higher resolution and the fact that you can easily use ray tracing.
In general, you can disable the FPS limit on the PS5 Pro, as it provides faster frame rates. However, with a limited frame rate, such as 60 FPS, the game runs much smoother and more stable. In the end, you have to decide what you prefer: ample FPS or a stable picture.
| Setting | Target Resolution | Resolution (Rendering) | Ray Tracing | Frame Rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Resolution | 3840 x 2160 | 3840 x 2160 | On | 30 FPS |
| Balanced | 3840 x 2160 | 2496 x 1404 | On | 40 FPS |
| Frame Rate | 3840 x 2160 | 1920 x 1080 | Off | 60 FPS |
Best Settings for Xbox Series X and S
Here’s what you should consider on the Xbox: The version on the Xbox Series X offers the same level as the standard PS5. Currently, the PS5 Pro offers the best results. Monster Hunter Wilds is an action-heavy game, so we also recommend preferring a high frame rate on the Xbox Series X. The downside is that the resolution may look a bit blurry.
Note: On the Xbox Series S, you can only play in Full HD at 30 FPS, so we will omit the Series S in the settings.
| Setting | Target Resolution | Resolution (Rendering) | Ray Tracing | Frame Rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Resolution | 3840 x 2160 | 3072 x 1728 | Off | 30 FPS |
| Balanced | 3840 x 2160 | 2496 x 1404 | Off | 40 FPS |
| Frame Rate | 3840 x 2160 | 1920 x 1080 | Off | 60 FPS |
Other recommended settings for PS5 and Xbox
If you are looking for additional sensible settings, we especially recommend three settings that you definitely should try out or use.
- Lower brightness: In the standard setting, the image on the PS5 and Xbox looks very blurry. Therefore, reduce the brightness.
- Turn off motion blur: Motion blur can cause motion sickness, so you should turn off this feature. Additionally, motion blur usually only makes the image appear smoother than it actually is. So definitely disable it.
- V-Sync (if necessary): Enable this feature if you do not have a TV that supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). Otherwise, you may experience graphical glitches when the frame rate fluctuates too much. The prerequisite for VRR is a TV that supports HDMI 2.1.
