Monster Hunter Wilds is receiving its fourth major update with various new features and changes. What highlights await you and what else you should know can be found here. We also bring you the complete patch notes.
What highlights are in TU4? The spotlight of the update is on the first Elder Dragon making its way into Monster Hunter Wilds: the giant Gogmazios. It arrives today, on December 16, 2025, as a permanent event quest for hunters ranked 100 and also brings new equipment.
Further highlights include:
- Gogma-Artian weapons
- Improved Artian weapons that you can upgrade with materials from Gogmazios
- They have a random bonus and group ability
- Abilities can also be reset
- Armor refinement
- Option to further improve armor starting at JR 100
- Removes limitations for armor ball improvements
- Combat-hardened Jin Dahaad
- Appears on December 24 as a permanent event quest
- Seasonal Event “Festival of Harmony: Lights”
- Winter festival from December 19, 2025 to January 14, 2026

More innovations in TU4 of Monster Hunter Wilds
What other innovations are there? Besides the highlights, there are also several other innovations that primarily expand the endgame and focus on improving balance and fixing bugs.
One of the larger innovations is new helper hunters that you can take with you on your hunts. Now, Griffin (Great Sword) and Nightmist (Light Bowgun) can assist you on your hunts if you don’t want to go alone, but also don’t want to play with others.
Additionally, there are new optional quests with several 9★ monsters for which you can earn exclusive nameplates. You can also look forward to new event quests.
There are also new photo poses for cosmetic enthusiasts, a free editing voucher for characters and Palicos, as well as a new but paid cosmetic package as DLC. Additionally, there is a glimpse of the next larger update.
What to expect after TU4
What kind of outlook is there? The next major update is already scheduled for February 18, 2026. However, it will not be titled TU5, but will instead represent a normal version update.
With the update, the combat-hardened Arkveld will permanently arrive as an event quest and there will be a collaboration with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. Additionally, the winners of the design competition for the Great Sword will be implemented, allowing you to admire them in action.
Furthermore, additional quests for advanced hunters starting at JR 100 will be introduced and work will continue on improving performance and overall gameplay experience.
With Gogmazios, the first Elder Dragon is arriving in Monster Hunter Wilds. Whether more will follow in the future is not yet known, but it is very likely that it will not be alone.
