Although it is still not known exactly when Monster Hunter Wilds will be released, many people have added the game to their wishlist on Steam in recent weeks and months. So many that only one other game has excited more.
How sought after is Monster Hunter Wilds? On Steam, every player has a wishlist on which they can put games and products that they find interesting. A particularly large number of players have added Monster Hunter Wilds to their wishlist in recent weeks. Just in January of this year, the game was not in the top 10.
Although the game does not have a specific date and cannot be purchased yet, the new installment of the series is now in second place among the most wished-for games on Steam, when not filtered by language.

What does the ranking look like? On Steam, Monster Hunter Wilds has recently surpassed several other games. One of them is Black Myth: Wukong, which dropped off the list due to its release in August 2024.

Recently, Valve introduced a new competitor to players’ wishlists with Deadlock, which currently has as many players as only a few other titles, even though the game cannot be played without an invitation.
Only Hollow Knight: Silksong is ahead of Monster Hunter Wilds on more players’ wishlists. Hollow Knight: Silksong is the sequel to a popular indie title. Fans have been waiting a long time for the game, and therefore had plenty of time to add it to their wishlist. There is rarely any new information from the developers about the status of the sequel.
The Metroidvania is considered an absolute cult hit, and fans have been waiting for years for the second part after Hollow Knight became a huge success. The game still does not have a release date, and at the gamescom Opening Night Live 2024, there was no new trailer to see.

Why is Monster Hunter Wilds now in second place? The Monster Hunter brand is extremely popular among fans. While the series was previously exclusive to consoles, with Monster Hunter: World in 2018, it was the first time a part was available on Steam.
Since then, the series has increasingly found its way into the hearts of players. However, at gamescom 2024, the developers showcased a significant amount of gameplay, sparking a new hype for the game.
