What are optional quests in Monster Hunter Wilds? Throughout the main story of Monster Hunter Wilds, you will encounter new monsters and gradually increase your hunter rank. The further you progress in the story, the more optional quests you will unlock with the popular field expert Alma.

Through these optional quests, you can comfortably and repeatedly hunt specific monsters to farm the materials associated with them or receive additional rewards. Here is a list of all optional quests that you can complete in the low rank. These quests are marked with a “star level” that reflects the difficulty and require a specific hunter rank (short: JR).

What is the difference between “slaying” and “hunting”? In a hunting quest, you have the choice of whether to capture or slay the monster. In slaying quests, you must reduce the health points of the respective monster to zero and defeat it to fulfill the task.
