The “CoD Infinite Warfare” disc is required to play Modern Warfare Remastered.
“Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered” brings the original “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare” into the present: With improved graphics and in high definition, you can relive the full campaign and 10 multiplayer maps from back in the day. Many fans were excited about the announcement of this remastered version – however, there is a catch.
There is only one way to get Modern Warfare Remastered: By purchasing the “Legacy”, “Legacy Pro”, or “Digital Deluxe” edition of “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare”. There is no other way. This is the only way you can download the game to your platform. A separate disc is not available for purchase.
Modern Warfare Remastered only with Infinite Warfare
This information has been known for some time now. Many fans cheered: “Great, I’ll get the new CoD and get the remastered version too”. However, some shooter enthusiasts think: “I’m not really interested in the future setting of Infinite Warfare, but I am in the remastered version”. How can this be reconciled?
If you’ve now come up with a clever plan to get Infinite Warfare, download the remastered version, and sell the IW disc, it won’t work. Because as stated in the fine print on the official website:
Modern Warfare Remastered is a complete game download (game disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered).
With this, Activision will likely put a stop to some resales. If you purchase the game digitally, resale is anyway excluded.
From November 4, you can purchase Infinite Warfare for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS4 players who have pre-ordered can play the campaign of Modern Warfare Remastered starting October 5.
