Royal Blood is an upcoming AAA mobile MMO by Gamevil. Unlike many mobile MMOs, you will receive rewards here if you don’t let the auto-play function do everything for you.
Many Asian mobile MMOs rely heavily on a so-called “auto-play feature”. When you activate this function, your hero will automatically go out and slaughter through the hordes of enemies. The grind is conveniently handled automatically by the hero, allowing you to brew coffee or sleep in the meantime. This feature is particularly exaggerated in Lineage 2 Revolution, where the autopilot often fights more effectively than the player themselves.
The developers at Gamevil, the creators of the mobile MMO Royal Blood, do not like this. Therefore, they want to do everything differently in their new game.
Better cooldowns for players who take action
At Gamevil, they believe that a game should be played actively. An automatic function should only be a tool, not a substitute for self-playing. That’s why in Royal Blood, players will be rewarded when they take action on the touchscreen themselves.
This system is roughly translated as “Power Bubble”. If you manually and tactically attack the right monsters, you will receive significantly reduced cooldowns on your skills. This allows you to play much more effectively than in auto-grind mode. This should be especially beneficial against the extremely powerful raid bosses, according to Gamevil.
Raid bosses are supposed to use various behavior patterns and tactics. You need to fight them in teamwork and are not only judged on DPS. It’s also about actively participating in the raid.
Specific global release date for Royal Blood announced
It is now known when Royal Blood will be released here in Europe. The global launch will take place on March 12, 2018. The Korean release of Royal Blood has apparently been postponed according to an interview on the site MMOCulture. There, Royal Blood will also not come out in 2017, but on January 12, 2018.
In addition, there was more information from the interview with Gamevil:
- Royal Blood will still run on smartphones like the iPhone 6 or Samsung Galaxy S4
- There will be a global server that offers a localized version for each country
- During quests, dynamic events will occur in the game world to distinguish it from other mobile MMORPGs. Like in Guild Wars 2, there will be recurring events that you and other players can participate in for special rewards.
- In PvP, there will be 100vs100 battles between two guilds. For two weeks, such skirmishes will take place every day. The guild with the most points wins in the end. Guilds can consist of up to 500 players, a record in the genre and a good breeding ground for politics and intrigue among players!
- The development of your heroes is more important than the development of your equipment. There will be items in the cash shop that accelerate your progress during the leveling phase. However, the best items in the game cannot be purchased; you must unlock them through gameplay.

Royal Blood could become a mobile MMO that changes the way we play MMORPGs.
