Fancy MMORPGs like Magic: The Gathering and the anime RPG Ni No Kuni? Netmarble fulfills the desire – but for mobile devices.
What did Netmarble introduce? At G-Star 2019, the largest Korean gaming and electronics show, the Chinese company Netmarble (Diablo Immortal) presented a series of new online games. These include:
- the hardcore MMORPG A3: Still Alive,
- the online RPG Seven Knights Revolution,
- Seven Knights 2
- Second Country: Cross Worlds
- and Magic: Mana Strike.
All games are planned for mobile devices. Particularly the last two games were a real surprise.
Ni No Kuni and Magic as Mobile MMOs
What is Second Country: Cross Worlds? The mobile MMORPG is based on the RPG series Ni No Kuni. The RPG impresses mainly with its anime graphics. They come either directly from the famous Studio Ghibli or from former employees of the company.
Second Country: Cross Worlds is supposed to be inspired by Ni No Kuni but does not use the brand name. The MMORPG relies on group systems like guilds, and it is possible to have pets fighting alongside you, similar to Ni No Kuni.
These are a kind of nature spirits that you can enhance. You play as one of five heroes in the story mode and can even compete in a PvP system with three other players.
What is Magic: Mana Strike? The mobile game initially announced as Magic: The Gathering M is a real-time strategy game that is very much based on the card game Magic: The Gathering. The developers focus on detailed 3D graphics that richly depict the fantasy world. You fight not in the form of cards, but with units. Currently, there are no further details about the game.
More to come
What are Seven Knights Revolution and Seven Knights 2? Seven Knights Revolution is an MMORPG where you take on the role of one of seven heroes. You can transform your weapons and must face massive boss enemies.
Seven Knights 2 is still in a very early development phase. The MMORPG is being created with Unreal Engine 4 and is intended to be a sort of next-gen mobile MMORPG.
What is A3: Still Alive? The MMORPG is a kind of mobile remake of the well-known hardcore online RPG A3 in Asia. The game is primarily aimed at PvP players. It allows open PvP everywhere, and A3 was infamous for its excessive player killing. A3: Still Alive aims to bring back that feeling.
Currently, there are no release dates for these mobile games available. It is also unknown whether the games will be released here in the country.
