Final Fantasy 14
Final Fantasy 14 was released (in its second, successful version) in 2013 – actually at a time when subscription MMORPGs were no longer as popular. Nevertheless, Square Enix opted for a subscription and was rewarded. Even today, this MMO is popular and has a large and active community that looks forward to upcoming content that is regularly released, so there is hardly any downtime and players do not have to think about whether a subscription is even worth it.
As with World of Warcraft, subscribers gain access to the main game and receive updates for free. The game itself and the add-ons must be purchased. Final Fantasy 14 impresses with its thoughtful and enjoyable gameplay, exciting stories and quests, good balancing, and simply being fun. Players are then happy to pay a monthly fee for this.
As a hero, you experience many adventures in FF14 in the fantasy world of Eorzea. As with WoW, quests and group content are at the forefront, but that doesn’t mean there’s no PvP. In special areas, you can also compete against each other.
