Everything Runs on Skills
The key to class diversity in ArcheAge lies in the skill sets. There are 10 basic collections of skills that fulfill a certain role. There are:
- Battle Rage: Melee DPS
- Sorcery: Mage Ranged DPS
- Archery: Ranged DPS
- Vitalism: Typical healer skills
- Occultism: Debuff mage
- Shadowplay: Agile rogue skills
- Auromancy: Protection against magic
- Defense: Tank skills against attacks
- Witchcraft: CC skills
- Songcraft: Support through buffs
Throughout the game, you can unlock three slots for skill sets and then combine them. This results in a healing warrior with buffs by combining Battle Rage, Vitalism, and Songcraft.
You can, however, switch the active sets in the slots at any time. This creates many new combinations.
From 10 to 120!
You can combine the 10 basic skill sets at will, resulting in a total of 120 different classes! For example, there is the super duper tank “Templar” who heals himself with Vitalism and protects against magic and physical damage with Defense and Auromancy.
Or you can combine Auromancy, Shadowplay, and Occultism for a really nasty fighter who strikes quickly and applies debuffs. The class system of ArcheAge is therefore ideal for experimental players who want to try something new.
