It’s time for our MeinMMO format “MMORPG News in 5 Minutes”. We summarize the most important news around the best genre in the world. Expect leaks, music from Wildstar, MMORPG releases, more Halloween parties, and much more.
Highlights of the week:
- We know when the next expansion of World of Warcraft will start. The “leak” comes from Blizzard itself through the alpha test. By the way: Crafting in World of Warcraft has become too complex. With Midnight, the developers are tweaking the system, streamlining it a bit.
- World of Warcraft Legion Remix started on October 22nd. New dungeons and raids are waiting – but also many new rewards.
- Nearly unlimited power – that’s what World of Warcraft Legion Remix promises. Yet the first players have completed it and are “finished”. The grind was indeed that intense. Speaking of which: Slowly but surely, characters in WoW Legion Remix are becoming too strong. So strong that Blizzard has to change a boss.
- With Visions of Eternity, the next expansion in the MMORPG Guild Wars 2 arrives on October 28, 2025. And it places a clear focus on more action. MeinMMO editor Alexander Mehrwald was able to see it all in a preview.
- As a newcomer to MMORPGs, it’s not always easy to get started. But with Visions of Eternity, Guild Wars 2 offers a good opportunity for anyone who has been unsure so far.
- On October 16, 2025, a new sandbox MMORPG called Pax Dei was released on Steam, Epic Games, GeForce Now, and in Game Pass. The developers reveal how many players were active during launch week.
- The composer of the music from Wildstar has made his work available for free to all interested parties via Soundcloud. More on Reddit.
What else has happened? Ragnarok Online is one of the classics of the MMORPG genre and has a special place in the heart of MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus. One reason is: the special class system. Next year, a worthy successor, Ragnarok Online 3, is finally set to appear.
Now there was new gameplay footage of a large siege battle. Many fans wish for only 2 things under the video on YouTube: removal of the planned auto-combat feature and a return of the popular card system from part 1, which allowed players to sock cards into equipment pieces to activate effects.
Trick or Treat, Turbo Boost and MDI started in Azeroth
What happened in the major MMORPGs:
- From October 18 to November 1, the Trick or Treat event takes place in WoW. Additionally, Turbo Boost is live and since October 24, the Mythic Dungeon International is underway. You can find details on all events at blizzard.com.
- A new feature in World of Warcraft is supposed to help, but it causes a lot of confusion. The light blue names are often annoying.
- There is an NPC in World of Warcraft who has had one single goal for over 18 years. In Midnight we learn how that turned out.
- The old races in World of Warcraft will soon be obsolete. At least that’s what one might think when seeing what the Haranir have to offer.
- A druid in World of Warcraft is losing their favorite shapeshift form. But instead of helping, support only provides annoying false information.

- The alpha version of Stars Reach received a new update that has brought the merchant kiosk to the MMORPG. You can find the patch notes at starsreach.com.
- For Lost Ark Mobile, there was a trailer for the start of the closed beta test. Where? On YouTube!
- As NetEase has tightened its purse strings, the team behind the MMORPG project Ghost needs to find new investors. The search proves to be difficult. Studio head Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street is visibly affected by this.
