The new medieval MMORPG Reign of Guilds is now available for free on Steam. The game has a karma system that can significantly influence the gameplay.
When will it be available? Reign of Guilds is a medieval-themed game that was originally set to launch in the first quarter of 2022, but the release has been postponed until April 2024. Now the developers have decided on a new step: You can try the game for free on Steam and test it until December 31, 2024.
The game offers a huge open-world PvP landscape with a karma system, allowing every player to influence the game world. Additionally, it is possible to engage in alliance and guild wars with up to 150 players. This way, you can fight countless battles together with your friends.
What can you expect in the game?
How does the karma system work? In Reign of Guild, your fate is determined by your karma. If you kill defenseless players in the MMORPG, you will receive negative karma. Although this allows you to scrounge some rewards, you will subsequently incur the merchants’ resentment, causing them to raise their prices.
If you take this to the extreme, you will be labeled as a “Psycho,” and the NPCs will not sell you anything at all. Additionally, other players can kill you without facing any consequences. You will essentially be fair game.
If you attack a player and they defend themselves, the fight will turn into a genuine duel and you will not receive negative karma. If you behave like a hero and only engage in honorable duels or kill players with negative karma, you will be seen as a “Saint” and rise in the merchants’ favor. They will then offer you juicy discounts.
How is the beginning of the game? Reign of Guild is currently in Early Access. The developers have designed the game so that the player spends some time in the starting area. This is intended for players to really get to know the MMORPG before throwing themselves into battles. However, various DLCs can speed up the process, allowing you to leave the beginner area sooner.
