Ashfall will be a Fallout-like MMORPG shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world and is expected to be released in 2024 on Steam. However, there hasn’t been any news from the developers for a long time.
What are the latest updates on Ashfall? In July 2023, MeinMMO reported on the upcoming beta for the new MMORPG from NetEase. On August 3, 2023, a two-week closed beta was initiated for which players could sign up.
After these two weeks, it seems the developers took the community’s feedback to heart – perhaps a bit too much, as there have been very few additional updates since then. The last communication on social media was via x.com. There, the officials stated that the next test is planned for December 2023 or January 2024.
Since then, there has been complete silence. Even on Discord in December 2023, there was only a Christmas greeting and the information that they are still working on the game and optimizing it based on player feedback (via mmorpg.org.pl).
On Steam, it still shows that the planned release date will be in the third quarter of 2024. This would mean the game would need to be launched by the end of September. However, this seems rather unlikely considering that there is currently no further information on the planned release.

What’s new with Ashfall? Unfortunately, there are no global news regarding further tests or whether the release date can really be met. However, news has been reported in China. The publisher NetEase is based in Hangzhou, a city in eastern China.
In China, the servers are already available for pre-download. Since September 12, 2024, it has been possible to download the game and sign up for the test qualification. The official launch of Ashfall is planned for November 24, 2024, but of course only in China. Unfortunately, there is currently no further information regarding a global release date.

What does Ashfall offer you? Ashfall is an MMORPG, but it won’t be a classic fantasy game; instead, it throws you into shooter combat from a third-person perspective. The setting takes place in a post-apocalyptic future that resembles Fallout in the early trailers.

It is also said to feature a dynamic weather system, various random events, lively NPCs, different firearms, and a fast-paced combat system.
