Dead by Daylight offered the wrong patch for download. This has now spoiled the next killer and revealed what we can expect soon.
If things aren’t going well, they’re really not going well. Once again, a leak at Dead by Daylight has caused the next killer to be spoiled. This time, however, it’s the developers’ own fault. They offered the wrong patch for download and realized it too late.
The patch revealed: The next killer will really be Ghostface from the Scream franchise.
What happened? Today (07.05.2019), the new “Mid-Chapter-Patch” of Dead by Daylight was supposed to be released. As soon as it was available, fans jumped in and installed the update. However, there was a mistake. The developers accidentally made the next patch available for download, which was actually still in development. This confirmed that the next killer will be “Ghostface” from the Scream universe – in Dead by Daylight, he is called “The Ghost”.
The error was noticed within a few minutes. All players were thrown out of the game and forced to install the correct patch. However, some screenshots were taken.
What can the killer “The Ghost” do? In addition to the appearance of the killer, his ability and one of his perks have already been leaked. Ghostface will be the first killer who can look around corners – similar to the survivors. This allows him, like Michael Myers, to “stalk” survivors and debuff them. His ability “Shrouded Hunt & Stalk” translates to:
“The Ghost can move stealthily, crouch, peak around corners, and observe survivors.
His main ability is “Shrouded Hunt”, during which he has no terror radius.
His secondary ability is “Stalk”: The Ghost can observe survivors (“stalk”) and expose them for a limited time with the Exposed status (which causes them to go down with one hit).”
What perks does “The Ghost” have? One of his perks has also been leaked, which is very interesting and brings a new spin to the obsession mechanic. The perk is called “Simple Formula”:
“A survivor becomes your Obsession. When the Obsession is hooked, you gain a token. Each token reduces your terror radius by 4 meters while you are in a chase, up to a maximum of 2 / 3 / 4 tokens. When a survivor rescues another survivor from the hook, that survivor becomes the new Obsession. You lose all tokens when your Obsession is killed or sacrificed.”
More skins for The Pig: The patch also spoiled that “The Pig” is getting new cosmetic items. This is a novelty for licensed characters that usually do not receive new visual customizations. Apparently, Behaviour was able to secure another deal with the rights holders of the SAW franchise.
