Mirage: Arcane Warfare is the unofficial successor to the melee spectacle Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. Unlike its predecessor, this one features more fantasy elements as magic and alchemists come into play. The colorful action fun will soon start its Closed Beta, which you can already download.
Those who know Chivalry: Medieval Warfare understand that the game revolves around wild melee fights, well-timed attacks, and blocks in a medieval world, similar to For Honor. Mirage: Arcane Warfare follows a similar gameplay principle.
However, the new game by Torn Banner takes place in a fantasy world where instead of brave knights, assassins, alchemists, and fat mages on flying carpets join the fray.
Mirage: Arcane Warfare – What’s it about?
As in Chivalry, skill and timing are essential in Mirage. Each of the six classes has its own strengths and weaknesses that you must exploit to win. You need to actively block, dodge attacks, and also pay attention to the game’s physics.
Available game modes include: Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch, and a payload mode called “Push,” where you must protect a moving mission objective. There is also a capture mode where you capture and hold magical glyphs. The battles take place on a total of 11 maps, all influenced by the Persian/Arabian style of the game.
The Heroes of Mirage: Arcane Warfare
To help you accomplish these objectives, the developers at Torn Banner have prepared the following six classes for the beta:
- Taurant: An easy-to-play brawler who jumps into the fray and smashes everything to bits.
- Vypress: An agile assassin who strikes quickly and disappears again.
- Tinker: A troll character who uses annoying traps and gadgets to hinder, impede, and troll the enemy.
- Vigilist: A strong defensive fighter who holds back opponents with shield, spear, and magic, enabling counterattacks.
- Alchemancer: A ranged mage who decimates the enemy from a distance with powerful magic.
- Entropist: This chunky mage pug has a flying carpet and serves as a healer and supporter.
