Soon there will be mini-games in Minecraft: The first will be a PvP multiplayer competition!
In Minecraft, the main focus is on mining blocks in a randomly generated world and crafting new things. You can build huts, houses, or even castles. Additionally, crafting weapons from gathered materials is possible and is part of the game’s objectives.
New Multiplayer PvP Competition Mode in Minecraft
The developers behind the popular sandbox game will integrate a whole set of new mini-games in Minecraft. The new PvP mode is expected to be released in June for the console version. The update is set to be free for all players on the console. Microsoft states that there will be purchasable maps for these modes in the future to support the project.
“Battle” is the name of the new mode in Minecraft
The marketing manager of Microsoft, Jaime Limon, explained “Battle” as follows:
With Battle, you can start a multiplayer survival match where not only speed and strategy matter, but sometimes sheer luck decides who the winner is. Players in Battle use randomly generated resources found in chests placed on special PvP maps. In an exciting free-for-all deathmatch, players fight until only one survivor remains.
When you are dead, you can still participate as a spectator in the Battle and fly over the map as a bat to watch the fighting players. Battle games can be played with up to 4 players via split-screen or up to 8 players online via Xbox Live. Additionally, there is a matchmaking system that can add players with similar skill levels to your team when needed.
Although there is currently no more specific statement regarding the release date than “in June” – it won’t be long now.
