Currently, there are issues with Microsoft Teams. How long is Teams down and is there any current information about the outage?
Those who want to use Teams right now are facing a whole range of problems:
- Connection interruptions
- Voices sounding like robots
- Messages or sent images not loading
At the current time (as of 25.01, at 10:02), several users are affected by the issues (via allestoerungen.de). There was also some chaos in our editorial office early in the morning, as people could not hear or see each other.
What can be done about the problems? Currently, the problems seem to lie with Microsoft and the servers. The following tips have helped us and some colleagues:
- In some cases, it helps to restart your client on the PC and then reconnect to the server.
- Some colleagues were able to connect better via their mobile phone or device and thus participate in conferences or other appointments.
Another recommendation from Microsoft itself is to clear the Teams cache:
- First, close Microsoft Teams, which can be done from the bottom right via the icon in the taskbar.
- Next, select the following location and paste it into the file explorer: %appdata%MicrosoftTeams. Then delete all the contents of the folder.
- After that, restart Teams as usual and log in again with your user data.
Otherwise, the main thing right now is to be patient and wait for the issues on the server side to be resolved and for the connections to work properly again.
