In preparation for the new Mewtwo raids, something has changed in the code of Pokémon GO. The catch rate for Mewtwo has been set to 6% in the Game Master file. This is higher than that of other legendary Pokémon. However, a guaranteed catch is still far from certain with Mewtwo.

6% Catch Chance – Should be easy
The first exclusive raids in Japan started a few hours ago, giving trainers the chance to defeat and catch the special Pokémon “Mewtwo”.
After the Yokohama event in Japan, trainers had high expectations for the Mewtwo raids. During the event, Mewtwo appeared in the game for the first time and rewarded successful raid participants with 50 Premier Balls and a 100% catch chance for the Pokémon.
This guaranteed the organizers a special reward for many trainers.
Due to this event, players in the community assumed that Mewtwo would have a relatively high catch chance when released for all trainers. This assumption is partially correct, as Mewtwo has a higher base catch rate than other legendary Pokémon. Nevertheless, it is only at 6%.
