In the middle of their tour, Twitch streamers Frederik “NoWay” Hinteregger and Giacomo “Metashi12” Curci lose their sponsor.
Why did the tour allegedly have to be interrupted? Currently, Twitch streamers Metashi12 and NoWay are on their joint tour “Alt auf Achse” in Italy. They stream their joint activities and are sponsored by the company AXA.
A few days ago, they briefly interrupted the tour, claiming that there were technical problems and they supposedly had no internet connection. The day before yesterday, the two Twitch streamers returned and stated that they had lied and that there was another reason for their forced break: their sponsor AXA had backed out.
“Communication was lost”
Why did the sponsor back out? In a brief statement stream on Twitch, the streamers explain that they ended their collaboration with their sponsor AXA. It seems that the two had spent the whole morning in talks and meetings about the matter to clarify it.
They do not name a more detailed trigger for their sponsor’s withdrawal, only stating that the “values” from their side “could not be fulfilled” (Source: twitch.tv from 00:27:30).
NoWay elaborates: “Of course, this is the discrepancy somewhere. Everyone knows how we are, everyone can assess how AXA is, and somewhere in between, this communication was lost. And there was a certain discrepancy between what is desired in terms of content and what is delivered as content.”
They emphasize that there is no bad blood between them and the company and that they just decided not to work together anymore. They are also “infinitely grateful” to AXA for giving them the opportunity to do the tour.
What happens now? Even though AXA is no longer present as a sponsor, NoWay and Metashi do not want to abort the tour and continue. Even without a sponsor, it is possible to continue streaming the tour and carry out activities.
Planned are a canoe trip, a boat tour, and gaming arcades. Something is also planned for Metashi’s upcoming birthday.
